I took Mikko to the Renaissance festival a couple of weekends ago. I was nervous about the crowds and other dogs that might be there; but he did awesome! He loved the attention that everyone gave him! And some of the comments I got were hilarious! "He has a fat head!" LOL! Well yeah, he is 98lbs; what do you expect!?
I had to have my usual turkey leg while I was there and the lady asked if my dog could also have a treat for free and of course I said yes! So she comes back with two turkey legs; one for me and one for Mikko. I thought "Sweet!" he will LOVE this! So I picked off a bunch of turkey for him and he loved it and went about our day at the Renaissance festival.
Well the next day I remember that he is allergic to turkey! I thought that I was a bad mom for forgetting that he is allergic to turkey and relieved that he had no serious allergic reactions yet. Over the next week he broke out in the worst hot spots I have ever seen him have. They were huge, raised and swollen! My poor little big guy!
I got my friend that does the NAET thing and she treated him for his turkey allergy and so far so good! He looks better already! And now he has been eating turkey for the past two days without any hot spots. Yay!
I'll try and remember to get some photos up here of him lately. He looks better than he ever has!
