I Love Feeding Raw, But There Are Drawbacks!

I know I have not posted anything on here in a really long time; so I figured it was time for an update. :)

I LOVE FEEDING RAW!!

If you can find the right stuff to feed, it can be really simple and so much better for your dog. I fed raw for well over a year....until now. :(

There are a few drawbacks with feeding raw that I will admit to you. It is expensive! However, if you are buying a really good quality dog food that is $40 or more and getting two bags a month to total $80 or more than it is the same price as feeding raw. The other drawback is that you have to have a separate fridge/freezer to keep your dog food in. Ok, you don't have to, but it helps! The last drawback has to do with that. I live in the north where it gets really cold and my fridge/freezer happens to be in my garage; so when it gets really cold it stops working. Its pretty hard to defrost something when its the same temp as outside.

So I hate to say it, but because of the nuisance and cost, I'm back to dog food. :( I did however find a really decent dog food at Costco that is reasonably priced. I also hate to say that my boy has never looked better! Crazy as it may sound, especially coming from me. I have noticed something though, going back to dog food. My dogs cannot get enough water! My boy has actually gotten so obsessed with water that he tries to start fights with his sister over it. (He never had that problem before.)

Would I go back to raw in a heart beat if I could fix some of the drawbacks? Yes!

Do I really like the dry dog food they are on now? Yes!

Tough decisions....
