Here is how she tests what he is allergic to:
I will usually bring in something I want her to test for or she has little glass vials of different substances to also test him for. So for example when I switched him to a raw diet so I could control what he was ingesting better I was giving him mostly beef because it's easy. Well after a few days he had a bad reaction and all his spots got really red and huge, covering the whole underside of his belly! So we decided that we should test him for a beef allergy. To test him, I held a vial of beef substance in one of my hands and place it against his body. Then I held my arm straight out and she pushed down on my arm. If my arm had not gone down then he was not allergic to it. But my arm did go down and the lower my arm went the more he was allergic to it.

Here is how she treats what he is allergic to:
She started by opening up my back with a back massager because his energy will flow through me and the point is to make his body realize that whatever we are treating him for is OK to be in his body. Then I held the same vial against his body for 20 minutes. He calms down and gets sleepy during this time. After that he just had to stay away from beef for 24 hours and then he could have it after that.

I know this stuff sounds pretty far out there, but I swear it is true and it works! After the 24 hours after that treatment his redness was gone! I wish I would have taken picture of that time in particular because it was amazing with the difference!

My guy has many more allergies to treat for and that have yet to come up but I believe in this and I'm lucky to have a friend that is doing this for me! Thanks my friend! I will forever be in your debt! You have changed mine and my dog's life forever!

NAET has changed my dog's life! NAET stands for Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques. It is testing and treatment of allergies for people, but can also be used for dogs. Like I said before, I heard about this from my coworker because she has the training to do it. I put the link below for you to read for yourself about it but the best way I can describe it is to just tell you how the testing and treatment works from my point of view.

I have been taking my guy to see my friend for about a year now and he has been tested and treated for several allergies. I found that he had an allergy to: eggs, feathers, smoke, grass, trees, flowers, pollen, turkey, beef, fish oil, carpet cleaner, laundry soap, and etc. He was treated for almost all of the above things that he is allergic to and can now have those things again!

The Story Continues

From the time my handsome man was 5-6 months old until this day he has lived with an annoying itch and spots all over his body.

A few months back he even had a reaction so bad to something that I'm still not sure of that he swelled up and it looked like he had golf balls in his cheeks. I was continuing to give him benadryl for days and finally took him to the vet. They gave him prednisone and something to help with his diarrhea.

We have tried everything from changing food to changing things we clean with around the house to thinking about getting formal allergy testing done at the vet when I talk to a coworker about it and she told me about NAET....

The Story

I started this blog for those interested in learning about another person's struggle of a dog with allergies.

So here is the story from the beginning...

We got our adorable 10 week old male supposedly a blue Pit Bull with blue eyes from a humane society in January of 2009. We should have known that he was a mix because he had a little brown in his blue fur and he already weighed 20 lbs when we got him at 10 weeks old!

He grew and grew for the next few months with little to no problems until he was about 5-6 months old. He started having vomiting and diarrhea and was looking very skinny for his big body. He also started to get these red, dry and itchy spots on his belly. (Hot spots) And around his eyes, mouth, and paws were all red and slighty swollen and terribly itchy. He also kept getting yeast in his ears; trying to start an ear infection.

Those were about all the symptoms he had, so we started by switching his food to a better all natural food. He never seemed to get better or worse, the symptoms were just there....
